Mark is a recovering newspaper journalist who always recognizes a good story when he sees one. That’s good because he’s central to our unique Corporate Storytelling capabilities. Mark knows his stuff. Working now as a self-employed Communications and Management Consultant, Mark is the recently retired Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Scripps Networks Interactive. Mark’s career morphed into corporate management when he joined the Corporate Communications and Investor Relations team at Scripps after two decades with the company as an award-winning newspaper reporter and editor. Mark was the CEO’s lead speech writer, communications strategist and annual report project manager. As the company’s primary liaison with Wall Street, he also was responsible for shaping Scripps’ identity as a publicly traded company. Mark has a Bachelor’s degree in communications from Western Kentucky University and an MBA from Xavier University, a great combination that we’re putting to good use.
